Job Summary

Modify existing or develop new designs of products, sub-assemblies, and assemblies under the direction of senior engineers. Create and maintain mechanical designs and engineering documents, prepare detailed drawings for supplier quotations and manufacturing, and lead new configured model development. Design, build, and test engineering prototypes while presenting findings to senior management. Define test requirements, prepare samples, and travel to labs or customer facilities. Participate in Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA) events and perform systematic problem solving for returned product investigations. Requires a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, CAD proficiency (Solid Edge preferred), and experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Hybrid work arrangement with 1 day WFH; annual base salary $72,710 - $96,343.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Strong proficiency in the use of CAD systems, specifically 3D modeling
  • Knowledge of mechanical design, manufacturing, and model making
  • Experience with Dimensioning and Tolerancing
  • Knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Ability to prioritize workload to complete multiple projects and meet milestones
  • Normal or frequent minor physical effort required for the day-to-day activity in the workplace
  • May involve standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs and lifting/moving/using objects or equipment up to 20lbs

Desired Qualifications

  • 0-2 years of experience working in either a technical design, commercial customer service, or manufacturing function is an asset
  • Experience with Solid Edge is preferred
  • Knowledge of Switchgear Design is an asset
  • Desire to work hands-on in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Committed to a lean and continuous improvement working atmosphere
  • Exposure to programming in C++, HTML, Visual Basic, or similar programs
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
