Job Summary
Join Xylem as a Mechanical Engineer supporting the Engineering Design team in delivering advanced water treatment systems. You will be responsible for interpreting client specifications into detailed engineering designs, producing calculations and equipment specifications, and ensuring compliance with relevant standards throughout the project lifecycle. Essential qualifications include an HNC or HND in Mechanical Engineering and strong capabilities in technical interpretation and problem-solving. Experience in electrochlorination and manufacturing processes is desirable.
Required Qualifications
- HNC or HND in Mechanical Engineering (Degree desirable)
- Strong ability to interpret complex technical specifications and diagrams
- Confident representing the company professionally with customers
- Strong problem-solving skills and creative thinking
- Good understanding of manufacturing and production processes
- Commercial awareness and understanding of engineering costs
- High attention to detail
- Strong communication and reporting skills
- Well organised with the ability to prioritise effectively
- Good level of computer literacy
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with electrochlorination packages or chemical process equipment
- Structural steelwork construction and welding knowledge
- Knowledge of ATEX, IECEx and HAZOP
- Familiarity with major petrochemical specifications (e.g. BP, Shell)
- AutoCAD experience
