Job Summary
Mechanical Engineer responsible for design, fabrication, and testing of electronics enclosures for defense applications, including rack-mount/bench-top and fully ruggedized enclosures, custom wiring harnesses, thermal management, non-destructive disassembly/repackaging, and procurement interfacing; requires Solidworks proficiency, experience with MIL-STD-810G and IEC 60529 standards, Altium CAD integration, and capability to perform design-for-manufacture with additive/subtractive techniques.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering
- Proficient using Solidworks
- Experience generating formal drawing packages that include: assembly drawings, BOMs, product structure drawings
- Experience with formal configuration and change management
- Experience designing and testing enclosures designed to meet high temperature/vibration/shock environmental qualification standards such as MIL-STD-810G
- Experience designing and testing enclosures designed to meet commercial ingress (physical/dust/liquid) standards such as IEC 60529
- Experience integrating output of electronics CAD tools such as Altium
- Experience using both additive and subtractive manufacturing techniques
- Experience executing trade studies in support of make/modify/buy decisions
- Experience performing thermal analysis using techniques such as CFD
- Experience supporting procurement of assemblies and interfacing with fabrication shops

- Active Top Secret Security Clearance
- Experience designing RF shielded enclosures
- Experience with injection molded manufacturing
- Experience in material selection/evaluation
- Experience using Altium
- Experience generating and executing MIL-STD-810 qualification test plans/procedures
- Experience interfacing with non-US fabrication shops
- Experience designing and testing enclosures to MIL-STD-810G and IEC 60529 standards
- Experience with enclosure design for high temperature and vibration environments
- Experience with fabrication shop interfacing and procurement
- Experience designing and testing enclosures for RF shielding
- Experience using Solidworks
