Job Summary
Thermal Engineer - R&D role focusing on developing and optimizing thermal systems for military, government, and commercial customers. Lead projects from concept to prototype and production, performing analytical calculations, CFD/FEA simulations, laboratory build and testing, and direct customer interfacing. Work with microchannel cooling, three-dimensional cooling passages via additive manufacturing, membrane enhanced cooling, oscillating heat pipes, and design-for-manufacture processes. Responsibilities include proposal writing for new ideas, conducting experiments, and driving technology from conception through production. Requirements include a BS(Me) or MS(Me) with strong heat transfer, thermodynamics, and fluid dynamics knowledge, hands-on lab experience, and data acquisition experience (LabVIEW preferred). ITAR-restricted role requiring US citizenship. GPA >= 3.3 for all degrees. Experience with CFD/FEA (ANSYS/FLUENT) is a plus. Equal opportunity employer.
Required Qualifications
- BSME or MSME
- US Citizenship
- GPA not less than 3.3 for all degrees
- Solid understanding of heat transfer, thermodynamics, and fluid dynamics
- Experience with data acquisition systems (LabVIEW preferred) including temperature, pressure, flow, and other sensors
- CFD/FEA modeling (ANSYS/FLUENT) experience is a plus
- Hands-on laboratory test experience
