Job Summary
Mechanical Engineer responsible for designing and detailing machinery for the foods industry using SolidWorks and AutoCAD, developing conceptual machine layouts, and producing exploded views and Bills of Materials. Will identify motor requirements and perform torque calculations for conveyors, and serve as a liaison with electrical engineering to integrate HMI and PLC controls as well as robotics for pick-and-place applications. Will work with customers to incorporate specific design parameters, and be available for on-site commissioning at customer sites. Proficiency in MS Office (Excel helpful) and experience with AutoCAD/SolidWorks required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- SolidWorks
- AutoCAD
- MS Office proficiency
- 3 years of experience preferred
- ability to perform torque calculations for conveyors
- on-site commissioning capabilities
- communication with customers for design parameters
- bills of materials (BOM) experience
