Job Summary
Mechanical Engineer at Team Consulting focusing on design and development of medical devices, working in high-tech labs and workshop spaces in a Cambridge countryside setting. Responsibilities include designing robust medical devices for medium/high-volume manufacture, participating in all stages of medical device development from concept to client projects, performing design analysis, industrialisation, risk analysis and testing, and presenting designs in client meetings. Requirements include 2-5 years’ experience in device development in regulated markets, CAD skills (SolidWorks), and a degree in engineering or product design.
Required Qualifications
- Qualifications and Skills
- 2-5 years' industry experience and proven track record in device development, from concept to manufacture, in medical or other highly regulated product markets (e.g. automotive, aerospace, defence etc.)
- experience in the design of test rigs, mechanical systems and/or injection moulded components
- technical analysis and math modelling
- 3D and 2D CAD (SolidWorks)
- good degree in an engineering or product design discipline
- experience of design for high volume manufacturing (+1 million devices per annum)
- experience of working for a technical consultancy
- product life cycle management (including specification, verification, and validation)
