Job Summary
Mechanical Engineer to support development, design, analysis, and testing activities across a variety of mechanical systems. You will work as part of an engineering team and contribute to mechanical design, modeling, analysis, and verification efforts for complex hardware systems. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with senior engineers, test, manufacturing, and project personnel. Travel may be required up to approximately 10–15%. Duties include completing mechanical design activities (part models, assemblies, drawings); supporting structural, thermal, and vibration analyses using ANSYS or Abaqus; assisting in developing mechanical requirements, test plans, and verification documentation; supporting environmental testing activities and documentation; coordinating with engineering, procurement, manufacturing, and integration teams to resolve technical issues; participating in trade studies and analyses; preparing technical documentation including design reports, test procedures, build documentation, and proposal inputs; following configuration management and document control processes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline
- 2–5+ years of professional mechanical engineering experience
- Proficiency with SolidWorks (parts, assemblies, drawings)
- Working knowledge of GD&T
- Experience with FEA tools (ANSYS, Abaqus, or equivalent)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret/SCI security clearance
- Strong analytical and communication skills; ability to work in a team
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Space/aerospace system experience is desirable
- Familiarity with aerospace environmental standards (e.g., SMC-S-016, MIL-STD-1540) is a plus
