Job Summary
Oversee mechanical design, integration, and assembly of complex electromechanical subsystems, ensuring proper fit, alignment, and functionality within larger system architectures. Develop detailed test plans, procedures, and custom fixtures for functional, performance, environmental, and qualification testing, then conduct these campaigns to collect critical data. Analyze results to identify anomalies, perform root cause analysis for mechanical failures, and collaborate with design engineers to implement effective solutions. Work cross-functionally with electrical, systems, software, and manufacturing teams to define interfaces, verify system-level performance, and refine integration methodologies for enhanced efficiency and manufacturability. Generate comprehensive test reports, assembly instructions, and engineering change requests. This role supports Anduril's mission to deliver cutting-edge autonomy and AI-powered systems to military clients, with potential travel required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- 3+ years of direct, hands-on experience in mechanical integration, assembly, and testing of complex hardware systems
- Demonstrated ability to set up, operate, and collect data from various mechanical test equipment (e.g., shakers, thermal chambers, data acquisition systems, load cells, accelerometers) and perform precise measurements
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electromechanical issues, conduct thorough root cause analysis, and drive effective solutions in a fast-paced environment
- Experience creating detailed assembly instructions, test procedures, and comprehensive reports
- Familiarity reading and interpreting mechanical drawings and CAD models
- Excellent communication skills
- Track record of successfully collaborating with diverse engineering teams (design, electrical, software, systems) to achieve integrated system validation
- Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Top Secret security clearance
- Ability to work with varying travel requirements
