Job Summary

Mechanical Engineer (Starship Avionics) responsible for designing instrumentation and integrated product solutions for Starship avionics, participating in manufacturing and testing, performing thermal/structural/tolerance analyses, creating 3D models and production drawings, conducting failure analysis, interfacing with machine shops, and leading internal and supplier design reviews. Requires CAD/FEA experience, GD&T, exposure to high vibration/high pressure environments, PCB/layout familiarity, and strong communication skills. Additional duties include hands-on involvement in testing (pressure, thermal, laser welding), and contributing to design for manufacturability and reliability in extreme environments, with opportunities for growth into higher levels. ITAR considerations and comprehensive compensation/benefits are noted.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, systems engineering, or electrical engineering
  • 1+ years of experience with mechanical or electromechanical design and analysis (internships and student project experience qualifies)
