Job Summary
Produce detailed engineering designs, technical project plans, specifications, drawings, and models for industrial and high-tech manufacturing facilities. Create, influence, and finalize designs involving piping, plumbing, chillers, boilers, HVAC, exhaust, motor control, process chemicals, wastewater discharge, and fire protection systems. Perform mechanical system calculations including load analysis, pump head curves, and pressure drop to optimize performance. Collaborate with designers, project managers, and cross-disciplinary teams to derive solutions for complex features and unusual problems. Facilitate design reviews, manage technical inquiries, submittal reviews, and RFI responses, and conduct field verifications to resolve design issues during construction. Ensure all deliverables comply with company standards, ASHRAE codes, and NFPA requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an ABET-accredited school in Mechanical Engineering or technically related discipline
- Experience working with AutoCAD
- Experience working with Revit
- Demonstrated knowledge or experience with designs containing HVAC, chillers, boilers, pump hydraulics, exhaust, process chemicals, wastewater discharge, or other similar mechanical building systems
- Demonstrated knowledge of ASHRAE standards
- Demonstrated knowledge of NFPA codes for mechanical systems
- familiarity with applicable state/local building codes
- Ability to clearly communicate technical information and design concepts to project managers, contractors, and cross-disciplinary teams
Desired Qualifications
- Preference will be given to candidates who hold a Professional Engineering (PE) license
- Experience with Navisworks
- Experience with PIPE-FLO
- experience with similar hydraulic modeling software
