Job Summary
Mechanical Engineer, Rocket Motor Systems responsible for mechanical design and analysis of solid rocket motor components (motor cases, nozzles, propellant grains, igniters, and ignition safety components). Requires strong command of mechanical design, stress and thermal analysis, and proficiency with industry CAD/FEA tools. Activities include CAD design of components, finite element analysis of structural/thermal systems, creating and releasing engineering drawings, generating reports/presentations, participating in design reviews, and supporting prototyping, manufacturing, and test operations onsite and at suppliers’ facilities. Own development of critical subsystems cradle-to-grave. Travel up to ~25% and ability to obtain/maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of mechanical design and analysis experience
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or similar
- Experience operating CAD software and/or FEA software
- Solid understanding of hardware manufacturability and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to travel to other Anduril sites, customer sites, or supplier sites as business demand dictates (anticipated 10-25% travel)
- Ability to obtain and hold a Secret Security Clearance
