Job Summary
Mechanical Engineer to drive design and purchasing of mechanical/electromechanical equipment for metallurgical, specialty metals, hazardous waste treatment, and aerospace industries. Provides sales, customer, and project support; develops engineering specifications; generates reports, manuals, and technical documentation; creates testing procedures; tracks project milestones; evaluates customer design specs for compatibility with Retech products; and supports fabrication and installation. Requires hands-on design work, CAD/FEA analysis, heat transfer and energy balance calculations, sizing of pumps/motors/gearboxes, and knowledge of P&IDs and industry standards. Must be able to travel domestically and internationally; must hold a BSME and have 2–4 years of relevant experience; strong communication and organizational skills; able to work in a fast-moving environment.
Required Qualifications
- BSME or equivalent
- 2-4 years of experience with 3D CAD (Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks)
- 2-4 years of experience with FEA software
- ability to perform heat transfer analysis and energy balance
- experience sizing components (pumps, motors, gearboxes, hydraulic/pneumatic cylinders)
- strong stress analysis skills
- experience with industrial schematics or P&IDs
- knowledge of industry standards
- ability to manage project schedules and budgets
- experience with materials suitable for high temperature, corrosive environments
- excellent verbal and written communication
