Job Summary
The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and testing components and systems, working independently to lead problem-solving efforts. Key responsibilities include establishing verification plans, collaborating with cross-functional teams, managing project planning activities, and mentoring junior engineers. Candidates must possess a BS or MS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering along with 5-8 years of relevant experience, particularly in mechanical design and engineering principles. Proficiency in SolidWorks and knowledge of thermal management and injection-molded plastics are essential.
Required Qualifications
- BS or MS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
- 5 – 8 years’ experience in mechanical system and component design for complex products
- Experience in structural FEA, vibration analysis, and modal testing correlation
- Experience or understanding of heat transfer and thermal management in electromechanical systems
- Experience in designing injection-molded plastic components for high-volume production
- Experience with metals, plastics, fasteners, adhesives, and surface treatments
- Experience in SolidWorks, PDM, and PLM systems
- Understanding of engineering principles, best practices, and design processes
- Experience supporting products from concept development to production release
- Experience supporting verification and testing activities
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional environments
Desired Qualifications
- Experience participating in vendor or supplier interactions
- Previous experience with avionics or UAVs
- Experience with optics specification and integration
