Job Summary
Mechanical Engineer to design, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes for automotive components at the Shelbyville, KY plant. Responsibilities include designing and optimizing processes, specifying manufacturing equipment and overseeing installation, conducting feasibility studies and cost analyses, troubleshooting technical issues and performing root-cause analyses, implementing quality control procedures, monitoring product quality, and driving lean manufacturing improvements. Requires CAD proficiency (SolidWorks, AutoCAD), experience with process optimization/lean manufacturing, and strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills. 5+ years manufacturing experience in automotive is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Minimum 5 years of manufacturing experience, preferably in automotive
- Strong understanding of manufacturing principles, tooling, and equipment
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD)
- Experience with process optimization and lean manufacturing
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
