Mechanical Engineer - Power Generation

Job Summary

Support or lead mechanical engineering efforts for natural gas and coal-fired power generation projects, specifically designing pumping and piping systems for fluids and gases. Develop and review P&IDs, perform comprehensive piping system design including valve selection and support design, and specify instrumentation placement. Review technical standards, specifications, and drawings to ensure quality, while preparing cost estimates, work plans, and schedules. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members, maintaining regular coordination with clients and external partners on Air Quality Control systems. This role requires 5-10 years of experience, a P.E. license, and familiarity with GT Pro software. Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of relevant engineering design experience in Power Generation
  • Professional Engineering (P.E.) License in Mechanical Engineering or relevant degree

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with simple cycle, combined cycle plants using natural gas, fuel oil and diesel and/or coal-fired generation is preferred
  • Strong technical engineering focus, experience in GT Pro or similar gas power performance modelling software would be beneficial
