Job Summary
Project Engineer – Plumbing focused on designing and delivering plumbing solutions for laboratories, cleanrooms, advanced manufacturing spaces, and commercial facilities. Responsibilities include surveying existing systems, reviewing scope and due dates, performing code/standards reviews, determining required plumbing systems, preparing calculations and equipment selections, sizing pipe distributions, drafting/drawing preparation, preparing specifications, coordinating with site utilities, creating riser and flow diagrams, generating contract documents (piping, drainage, vent plans, details, schedules, specifications), participating in construction administration (RFIs, shop drawings), drafting redlines, and interfacing with other engineers, architects, owners/clients, facilities personnel, utility companies, and contractors. Emphasis on collaboration, ownership from concept through construction, and progression toward PE/FE licensure. Hybrid in-office and work-from-home balanced work week; life sciences focus with opportunities for professional growth.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Plumbing Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field
- 2 to 4 years of experience in plumbing design and engineering
- Working knowledge of Standard Plumbing systems (domestic water, sanitary, stormwater, natural gas, pumps, safety equipment)
- Proficiency in REVIT and/or AutoCAD
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication and collaboration across project stakeholders
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and PDF editing applications
- Excellent organizational skills with demonstrated ability to execute projects on time and on budget
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders
