Job Summary
Mechanical Engineer responsible for creating and updating 3D CAD models, assemblies, and drawings for customer projects and engineering support. Roles include generating supplemental project documentation (machine programs, tool/fixture design drawings, process flows, setup information, work instructions, project plans and presentations), providing technical input and estimates, liaising with sales and production, conducting technical investigations, performing calculations to validate designs, coordinating with vendors and manufacturing, supporting design reviews, and ensuring designs meet AMSE/ISO standards. Requires a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering (or related field) and at least 3 years of CAD and manufacturing experience; proficiency with Autodesk Inventor (plus AutoCAD, Solidworks, Siemens NX), SAP, and MS Office; strong communication and project-management skills; ability to read drawings and develop documentation from concept to production.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience using CAD Software to produce 3D solid models, assemblies, and drawings
- Experience with Autodesk Inventor; familiarity with AutoCAD, Solidworks & Siemens NX
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in manufacturing related role (CNC Machining and/or sheet metal fabrication)
- Hands-on experience in machining, fabrication, mechanical inspection, and/or tool & fixture design a plus
- Strong ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications to AMSE & ISO standards; GD&T
- Basic understanding of MRP functions in manufacturing; SAP a plus
- Strong project management, communication, and multi-tasking skills
- Ability to present technical information and report project status to cross-functional teams
- Ability to prioritize deadlines
