Job Summary
Mechanical Engineer position at PacifiCorp within Power Supply. Act as the day-to-day mechanical engineer and project manager for both capital and O&M funded projects, analyze system design, troubleshoot challenges, run equipment and performance tests, and conduct site inspections to ensure adherence to engineering standards. Roles include engineering design and evaluation, environmental support for plant systems, capital budgeting, and potential progression through Engineer I/II/Sr with increasing responsibility such as leading and mentoring others, developing studies, and delivering engineering solutions that meet business needs.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited college/university
- Project management and leadership skills including the ability to work as a team member, to maintain project timelines, budgets, and deliver on commitments
- Basic knowledge and application of principles in area of engineering specialty
- Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations
- Ability to interact favorably with project and work teams
- Communication and interpersonal skills involving the ability to work cross-functionally to understand requirements, present alternatives, and recommendations
- Proficient with the use of personal computers and automated tools
