Job Summary
Senior Mechanical Engineer – Nuclear responsible for mechanical and piping design within nuclear projects, supporting project teams across scope, execution strategy, cost and schedule, engaging with vendors and clients, and participating in HAZOP reviews. Role involves hydraulic analysis, P&ID development, equipment identification, vendor reviews, and adherence to nuclear quality standards (ASME NQA-1) while promoting ethical practices and safety culture. Travel domestically and internationally; PE/EIT preferred. Location: Charlotte, NC; on-site role with in-person responsibilities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university
- Approximately 7–10 years of engineering experience
- Experience in mechanical and piping engineering functions in nuclear and other sectors
- Experience working in pressurized water reactor (PWR) and boiling water reactor (BWR) plants
- Experience with ASME NQA-1 Nuclear Quality Management System
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) status preferred
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally
