Mechanical Engineer role for a New College Grad with a PhD/Doctorate background, focusing on design, development, and optimization of mechanical devices and tooling for semiconductor and materials science applications. Responsibilities include creating layouts, schematics, and drawings; coordinating procurement and assembly; conducting tests and documentation; performing engineering analyses; and enabling packaging, fixtures, and tooling throughout the product life cycle. Requires strong foundation in physics, mathematics, and materials science, experience with interdisciplinary teams, and exposure to semiconductor equipment (laser, eBeam, vacuum, metrology, optics, motion control, robotics, thermal management). Location: Santa Clara, CA. Travel: ~10%. Relocation eligible. Salary: $124,000 - $171,000 per year.
Required Qualifications
- Must be pursuing a PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics or related majors from an accredited university or college and available to start Summer 2026
- Demonstrated experience in collaborative environments
- Exposure to semiconductor equipment or related advanced technology platforms
- Minimum 0-5 years relevant experience appropriate for a new graduate
- Must be able to design, develop, and modify mechanical layouts, schematics, and drawings under supervision
- Willingness to travel up to 10%
