Job Summary
Design, source, build, and test mechanical assemblies and mechanisms for the point-of-care molecular diagnostic reader platform, including interactions with fluidic cartridges and onboard chemistry. Develop systems supporting cartridge engagement, fluid actuation, and instrument motion while executing design controls and verification testing in compliance with ISO 13485. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements and ensure robust cartridge-to-instrument integration. Work on-site in Cambridge, MA, with a B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical Engineering and proficiency in SolidWorks and ASME Y14.5 GD&T standards.
Required Qualifications
- Experience designing mechanisms and mechanical assemblies, ideally in a regulated environment
- Proficiency in SolidWorks and application of ASME Y14.5 GD&T standards
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes relevant to mechanisms and assemblies (machining, 3D printing, injection molding, casting, extrusion) with a focus on design for manufacturability and affordability
- Experience executing ISO 13485 design controls, including design verification testing of module level designs
- B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline with at least 3 years of industry experience
- Ability to work on-site in Cambridge, MA
