Job Summary
Mechanical Engineer responsible for designing, developing, and qualifying electromechanical components and sub-assemblies for UV Curing systems. Perform design work with minimal supervision at sub-assembly or system level, develop product requirements documents from inputs across customers, Sales, Manufacturing, Field Service, and Process Engineering, prepare and execute test plans to validate performance, and coordinate documentation and collaboration with Purchasing, Manufacturing, and Field Service. Collaborate with electrical and software engineers to develop machine control systems and design components using sheet metal, machined, extruded, cast, welded, molded, and thermoformed processes to meet cost and customer requirements. Proficient in SolidWorks and MS Office, capable of communicating effectively, and willing to travel approximately 10% domestic and 5% international. Located in Stevensville, MD with a plan of flexible working schedules.
Required Qualifications
- BSME degree
- 3-5 years of pertinent experience in custom equipment manufacturing/systems integration
- Experience in electro-mechanical packaging
- Demonstrated design creativity and ability to operate independently and lead product development efforts
- Proficient in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks preferred)
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Able to lift 30 lbs, install subsystems into process equipment, and make adjustments
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
- Able to adapt quickly to changing priorities and deadlines
- Working knowledge of electrical and electronic systems; knowledge of optical systems a plus
