Investigate mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC incidents by analyzing engineering procedures and critically assessing decision-making, operational procedures, and the standard of care. Produce clear, scientifically sound reports and provide expert testimony on system benchmarking disputes, project delays, cost overruns, environmental contamination, or property damage. Delve into the "why" behind incidents, translating complex technical findings into objective evidence for non-technical audiences. Roughly 20% of time involves travel for inspections; the remainder focuses on analysis and report drafting under strict deadlines. Work independently and as part of a collaborative team to make a tangible difference.
Required Qualifications
- Active Professional Engineer (P.E.) license
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 10+ years of hands-on experience in startup, commissioning, maintenance, or operation of Mechanical, HVAC, and Plumbing Systems, including the design, review, and assessment of facilities/building systems
- Thorough working knowledge of mechanical building systems, industrial process systems, and fire protection
- Excellent technical, analytical, writing, and communication skills
- Strong ability to translate complex technical findings into clear, objective evidence for non-technical audiences
- Roughly 20% travel for inspections
- Clean background screen
- Driver's license
- Ability to drive
