Job Summary
Mechanical Engineer for a Design-Build team in Franklin, TN, responsible for engineering design, leading technical efforts, and serving as Engineer of Record for building mechanical systems. Design commercial/industrial HVAC, mechanical, and plumbing systems; prepare calculations, drawings, specifications, and documentation; ensure compliance with codes and project requirements; conduct HVAC load calculations and equipment sizing; perform facility evaluations and provide client-facing recommendations; support preconstruction and business development through reviews, site evaluations, code research, energy audits, and technical consultations; provide technical leadership throughout the design process across multiple projects.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience designing complex commercial and/or industrial building HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
- Current Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain Tennessee PE licensure
- Experience with Design-Build project delivery
- Experience preparing construction drawings, engineering calculations, and technical specifications
- Knowledge of applicable mechanical, plumbing, and building codes and industry standards
- Experience performing HVAC load calculations, equipment selection, and facility system evaluations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
