Job Summary
Mechanical Engineer lead/design role focused on electro-mechanical defense systems in an onsite Long Beach, MS office. Responsibilities include designing, prototyping, and developing electro-mechanical systems; producing 3D SolidWorks models, assemblies, and 2D drawings; performing structural, thermal, and tolerance analyses; ensuring hardware integration and design feasibility; independent task completion with the ability to suggest solutions; preparing engineering change documents, test plans, and reports; coordinating with production to ensure designs are manufactured to plan; presenting designs and engineering decisions during reviews to internal teams and customers. Preferred qualifications include hands-on electro-mechanical assembly experience, HVAC/thermal management experience, unmanned maritime vehicles exposure, corrosion-resistant design experience, high-shock and high-vibration environments, and experience with FEA tools, CSWA or higher, ISO manufacturing environment, and Windchill PLM.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent from an ABET-accredited engineering degree program
- 4+ years prior relevant experience or Master’s degree with 2+ years of prior experience
- Proficiency with the SolidWorks software suite
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Strong problem solving and organizational skills, with excellent written and oral communication skills
- US Citizenship and ability to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance
