Job Summary
Mechanical Engineer at Lapmaster International, LLC designing and evaluating lapping machinery and tooling; responsible for creating and updating drawings and diagrams (2D/3D), BOMs, assembly procedures, and operation/maintenance manuals; coordinating with internal/external customers, sales, purchasing and production; applying 3D CAD (SolidWorks) and FEM/analysis, Pneumatic/Electrical/Hydraulic systems, and completing timelines for large projects while ensuring safety and design updates.
Required Qualifications
- B.S.M.E. or M.S.M.E with a minimum of three years work experience in machine design/automation
- 3D solid modeling experience (preferably SolidWorks)
- Experience with Microsoft Office
- Strong organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
- CAD experience (SolidWorks, AutoCAD or similar)
- 2D/3D component design
- 3D assembly modeling
- Finite Element Analysis experience
- Pneumatic, Electrical, Hydraulic, Mechanical transmission knowledge
- Experience in machine design
- Assembly practices experience
- Some hands-on experience
- Operator controls layout experience
- Service and Troubleshooting understanding
- Some programming experience (PLC/HMI, PAC)
- BOM structuring
- Instruction manual writing experience
