Job Summary
The Mechanical Engineer IV role focuses on the design and engineering of HVAC and mechanical utilities for buildings within life sciences projects. The engineer will oversee the Mechanical discipline scope of work and budget across all project phases, coordinate with internal/external architects and engineers, clients, construction managers, subcontractors, vendors and manufacturers, and lead the development of design packages, calculations, reports and construction documents. Responsibilities include site surveys, energy modeling, load calculations, plans and P&IDs, specifications, RFI responses, submittal reviews, punch lists, quality checks, and mentoring junior staff. Requires ABET-accredited bachelor’s degree, 10+ years’ experience, PE license, proficiency with Revit/AutoCAD and industry standards (ASHRAE, SMACNA, FDA, ISO, NFPA, OSHA); travel for client development and project execution; experience in GMP/ Life Sciences or Food & Beverage environments preferred.,
Required Qualifications
- ABET-accredited Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering (with a mechanical focus)
- Minimum of 10 years of experience
- Professional Engineer registration in good standing
- Advanced experience with performing engineering calculations, and developing and implementing HVAC, mechanical utility and piping systems designs
- Advanced experience with using and applying the mechanical/plumbing/fire/building code
- Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
- LEED, WELL or other sustainable design accredited professional or, experience with sustainable design
- Intermediate experience with using and applying other applicable industry standards (ASHRAE, SMACNA, ISPE, FDA, ISO, NFPA, OSHA, etc.)
- Ability to travel for client development and project execution, and internal and external training opportunities
