Job Summary
Design complex actuator, igniter, and solid rocket motor systems, optimizing performance through structural, dynamic, and thermal analysis. Draft intricate 2D and 3D models using advanced CAD, interpret GD&T symbols, and communicate precise dimensional requirements. Develop customized solutions for insulator materials and refractory metal alloys, while leading assembly teams in additive manufacturing, composite layups, and machining. Execute testing protocols for energetics, perform data preprocessing, and validate simulation results to inform engineering decisions. Conduct mass estimations, risk management, and requirements elicitation for control systems and avionics.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science required in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or other relevant engineering discipline from an accredited university
- Seven (7) to ten (10) years of mechanical engineering experience
- Must be able to travel approximately 10% of the time
- Able to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance
- Must be a U.S. Person: a US Citizen, a lawful permanent resident of the U.S., or a protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a)(3)
- Applicants must be eligible to obtain any required export authorizations from the U.S. Department of State or the U.S. Department of Commerce
Desired Qualifications
- Master of Science required in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or other relevant engineering discipline from an accredited university
- Rocket motor design and testing experience
