Job Summary

Mechanical Engineer IV leads the design and engineering of HVAC and mechanical utilities for buildings, manages the mechanical discipline scope and budget across project phases, coordinates with internal/external architects, engineers, clients, construction managers, subcontractors, vendors and manufacturers, and produces design documents, calculations, and specifications. Responsibilities include site selection, master planning, commissioning and startup, load calculations, energy modeling, plans and P&IDs, design reports, code evaluations, RFI responses, submittal reviews, punch lists, and construction progress reporting. Provides mentorship to less experienced Mechanical Engineers/Designers, leads advanced project system design and master planning, and travels for client development and project execution. Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD, knowledge of GMP environments, LEED/WELL or sustainable design accreditation, and familiarity with ASHRAE, SMACNA, ISPE, FDA, ISO, NFPA, OSHA standards are preferred.

Required Qualifications

  • ABET-accredited Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering (with a mechanical focus)
  • Professional Engineer registration in good standing
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience
  • Advanced experience with performing engineering calculations, and developing and implementing HVAC, mechanical utility and piping systems designs
  • Advanced experience with using and applying the mechanical/plumbing/fire/building code
