Job Summary
Mechanical Engineer IV responsible for design and engineering of HVAC and mechanical utilities for buildings, overseeing the Mechanical discipline scope of work and budget across project phases, coordinating with architects, engineers, clients, construction managers, subcontractors, vendors and manufacturers. Key tasks include site selection, master planning, commissioning/startup, load calculations, energy modeling, design reports, code evaluations, plans, P&IDs, schedules, HAZOP reviews, installation details, equipment/selection specifications, and coordination with trade partners. Leads design activities across studies through construction administration, mentors less experienced engineers, directs a team of mechanical staff, and travels for client development and project execution. Proficient in Revit/AutoCAD, MS Office; knowledge of GMP environments and ASHRAE/SMACNA/ISPE/FDA/ISO/NFPA/OSHA standards; ability to travel; experience coordinating with construction trades and providing quality control on complex projects.
Required Qualifications
- ABET-accredited Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering (with a mechanical focus)
- Minimum of 10 years of experience
- Professional Engineer registration in good standing
- Advanced experience with performing engineering calculations, and developing and implementing HVAC, mechanical utility and piping systems designs
- Advanced experience with using and applying the mechanical/plumbing/fire/building code
