Job Summary
Mechanical Engineer on the Innovation & Marketing Team responsible for creating drawings for capital equipment and accessories, designing updates or new products using SolidWorks (and DraftSight), and leading design from concept to launch. Duties include evaluating existing/new products, maintaining accurate BOMs in ERP, tracking engineering deliverables, interacting with Product Management to support estimating and beta testing with customers, supporting sourcing for cost savings and alternate components, providing technical estimates to Sales & Product Management for custom capital equipment, supporting production and service teams, and managing customer run-offs with videos/reports to obtain sign-off. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related field) and at least 5 years of design/project management experience; proficiency with 2D (DraftSight) and 3D (SolidWorks) drawing, MS Office, strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills; travel minimal. Location: DeWitt, MI, USA.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering degree
- at least 5 years of design and project management experience
- 2D Drawing Experience (DraftSight Preferred)
- 3D Drawing Experience (SolidWorks Required)
- Proficient in MS Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong customer service and team collaboration skills
- Ability to formulate experiments and research projects independently and explain outcomes
- Problem solving skills
- Minimal travel required (<10%)
