Job Summary
Develop and execute project plans emphasizing safety, quality, and intellectual property protection while improving mechanical installation practices to reduce timelines. Perform hands-on troubleshooting, provide direction to technicians, and train personnel on installation methods and equipment modifications. Ensure required materials for project execution including redesign, procurement, tracking, expediting, and documentation. Interpret engineering requirements into equipment designs and schematics, overseeing internal teams and contract personnel during installation and conversion projects at domestic and international locations. This seconded position requires full-time contract work for 1-2 years on the client's Wilmington, NC site.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or higher degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- At least 2 - 7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Skilled in hands-on work with mechanical tools and measurement equipment
- Strong teamwork, adaptability, and a commitment to safety
- Solid understanding of mechanical systems, piping/P&IDs, drive trains, and pneumatic/electromechanical actuators
- Ability to interpret engineering requirements and translate them into equipment designs and schematics
- Must be agreeable to full-time contract work anticipated to last for 1-2 years
- Must be agreeable to working on the client's Wilmington, NC site
- Must be agreeable to day-to-day responsibilities being managed on-site with the client
Desired Qualifications
- Experience using AutoCAD®, Inventor, Microsoft Office, and Microsoft Project
- Background in manufacturing or construction environments
- Strong communication, presentation, and project management capabilities
