Job Summary

Design, evaluate, procure, assemble, and test structure, bracketry, and mechanisms for Astranis spacecraft, including composite and metallic parts. Perform mechanical and thermal analysis for spacecraft systems and integrate parts and systems into the spacecraft while documenting procedures to improve the build process. Collaborate with the engineering team on hard problems involving hardware and software for high-orbit satellites servicing commercial, government, and military customers. This twelve-week summer internship is hourly and requires U.S. citizenship or permanent residency.

Required Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a B.S. in mechanical, aerospace, or equivalent technical degree (e.g. physics or applied math)
  • A passion and enthusiasm for hardware development, including working in a fast-paced environment and hands-on design and development
  • Demonstrated ability to personally design, build, and test hardware from scratch
  • U.S. Citizenship, Lawful Permanent Residency, or Refugee/Asylee Status

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with CAD
  • Experience with analytical software such as stress or thermal analysis
  • Experience with electromechanical system design and specification
  • Experience with control system modeling and design
