Job Summary
Design, manufacture, and assemble prototypes of soft wearable electronic devices as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Apply engineering and design principles for manufacturing of injection-molded components, soft electronics, and sensor integrations. Communicate with vendors on DFM and manufacturing for prototype builds. Collaborate with researchers and engineers to rapidly prototype hardware solutions, iterate, and run experiments.
Required Qualifications
- BS in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent industry experience
- 4+ years of experience in designing hardware prototypes, preferably in wearable consumer electronics, or a similar field
- Knowledge of the design process from concept to manufacturing
- Average or higher experience with CAD modeling [Siemens NX preferred]
- Physical prototyping experience
- Demonstrated experience with Design for injection molding, liquid silicone rubber, 3D printing
- Experience with FPC/PCB design
