Job Summary
Mechanical Engineer for Industrial MEP design/analysis across a variety of industrial buildings. Responsibilities include design and layout of HVAC, piping, and plumbing systems; preparation of load calculations, equipment sizing, construction documents, and specifications; reviewing 3D models, supporting procurement, bid packages, and vendor reviews; site visits, RFIs, shop drawings, turnover; mentoring junior engineers and leading design teams. Required skills include HVAC design, load modeling, duct sizing, plumbing/piping integration, and knowledge of ASHRAE/NFPA/DOE codes. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering with 7+ years in building design is required; PE license is a plus. Base compensation $100,000-$160,000 per year; relocation assistance offered only to Lenexa/Kansas City area; US offices listed (Lenexa, Houston, Woodcliff Lake, Manhattan, Westlake/Dallas, Seattle, Lone Tree).
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering
- 7+ years of building design experience
- Experience with HVAC systems including chilled water, dehumidification, hydronic heating, steam, and gas piping
- Proficient in HVAC load modeling, psychrometric analysis, ductwork and pipe sizing
- Familiar with ASHRAE Standards and applicable mechanical/plumbing codes
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Mentorship/leadership experience preferred
- PE license is a plus
