Job Summary
Define system architecture, operational concepts, and technical requirements for advanced robotic actuator systems across humanoid, industrial, and service robotics applications. Lead system integration across mechanical, electrical, software, controls, and manufacturing disciplines while conducting trade studies, technical analyses, and risk assessments. Develop and execute system verification and validation strategies, including prototype integration, testing, and performance evaluation. Prepare system engineering documentation, lead technical design reviews, and ensure configuration management and compliance with engineering standards. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, customers, and suppliers to support product development, manufacturing readiness, and continuous improvement. Evaluate emerging technologies to drive product innovation and improve system performance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline
- 5+ years of experience in product development and design
- Systems Engineering Principles and Lifecycle Management
- System Architecture and Functional Decomposition
- Requirements Development, Management, and Traceability
- System Integration and Interface Management
- Cross-Disciplinary Systems Integration (Mechanical, Electrical, Software, and Controls)
- Ability to work in a self-directed environment
- Ability to coordinate and organize program deliverables from multiple sources and customers
- Effective interpersonal skills with internal and external customers
- Excellent verbal and technical communication skills
- Occasional domestic and international travel
- Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer
- Ability to work in a test lab environment
- Occasional lifting of items up to 20 lbs
- Frequent walking, standing, and bending as needed to perform duties
- Primarily onsite
