Job Summary
Evaluate in-house test failures and consider dry gas seal design solutions. Perform calculations, analyses, and computations for unknown factors involving well-understood mechanisms. Utilize proprietary FEA analysis software to investigate issues and produce concept sketches in CAD for design modifications. Prepare and present technical presentations to internal and external customers, providing detailed feedback and supporting commercial teams in technical meetings to resolve issues. Liaise with Development Engineering and Operations to develop point solutions and ensure stakeholders are apprised of project progress. This role is located at the Morton Grove headquarters, reporting to the Gas Seals Reliability Manager. Candidates must have relevant mechanical engineering experience, including forensic analysis, and the ability to read P&ID and detail drawings.
Required Qualifications
- Relevant work experience in a mechanical engineering role
- Ability to read P&ID, General Arrangement and detail drawings
- Awareness and general knowledge of controls, control systems and instrumentation
- Able to create and work to a plan, delivering on time and to expectations
- Can work independently and drive team goals forward
- Ability to conduct and lead meetings
- Excellent communication skills and commercial awareness
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with: Rotating Equipment, precision engineering, forensic analysis, the oil & gas industry
- Previous experience in failure analysis and root cause analysis
- Utilising proprietary FEA analysis software to investigate issues
- Producing Concept sketches, in CAD to convey design modifications
