Job Summary
Mechanical Engineer III responsible for designing and analyzing mechanical components and assemblies with emphasis on structural integrity. Design hardware based on customer specifications using SolidWorks; ensure design for manufacturability with RF, Manufacturing, and Production teams; perform static and dynamic analyses (modal, static, random vibration, thermoelastic) using NEi/NX Nastran and Femap; create and maintain documentation; review drawings with GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis; support production, testing, QA, and R&D activities; assist with proposals and customer/vendor communications; ensure compliance with ITAR/EAR and aerospace requirements; participate in continuous improvement and provide technical presentations to stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- 7-10 years of related design experience within the aerospace industry
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related Engineering
- Master’s Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related Engineering desired, but not required (post-graduate degrees may substitute 2 years of experience)
- SolidWorks or similar CAD experience desired
- NEi/NX Nastran, Femap, or similar analysis software experience
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes, including CNC machining and 3D Printing
- Experience assembling and delivering technical presentation to internal and external stakeholders
