Job Summary
Mechanical Engineer III - IV PED responsible for engineering activities across electric generating stations, drinking water conditioning plants, steam heating plants, chilled water production plants, 138kV to 13.2kV electric substations, and related facilities. Works in a multi-disciplinary engineering environment with mechanical, electrical, civil/structural, and other disciplines; tasks include investigations, studies, estimating, budgeting, scheduling, design, drawing development and review, construction and commissioning support, training, and project management. Requires mastery of duties for Level 1-2 engineering, ability to supervise entry-level engineers and technicians, and familiarity with applicable codes and standards. Preferred: FE, PE in Michigan, advanced degree, and experience in multiple areas such as electric transmission/distribution, substations, generating stations, and related facilities. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering from ABET-accredited university
- Minimum five to eight years of engineering experience
- Ability to read and properly apply national, state, and local codes (ANSI, ASME, NFPA, ASTM, ISO, ASHRAE)
