Job Summary

Independently perform intermediate to advanced mechanical design tasks, computations, and analysis for mechanical systems using Revit to prepare drawings and visual aids. Guide and direct production of engineering documents, pre-construction activities, and construction administration processes including shop drawing reviews, RFI responses, and punch list completion. Collaborate with senior staff and project management teams to produce construction documents, review HVAC controls sequences, and interact directly with clients on technical issues. Manage personal hours, prepare progress reports for stakeholders, and leverage AI-enabled digital tools to enhance efficiency and support continuous process improvement.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
  • Minimum of five years of mechanical engineering experience
  • Knowledge of designing mechanical systems
  • Knowledge of codes, code analysis and specifications for mechanical systems
  • Knowledge of DDC controls and monitoring for HVAC systems
  • Knowledge of electrical systems related to HVAC systems
  • Knowledge of fire alarm / protection system devices
  • Skilled at producing drawings and visual aids using Revit
  • Skilled in performing and analyzing load calculations
  • Skilled at using MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams), along with exceptional organizational skills for file management
  • Skilled in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail
  • Ability to work successfully in a remote environment thru effective communication and organizational skills, self-motivation, proactiveness and resourcefulness in a distraction free workspace
  • Ability to select most HVAC equipment types
  • Ability to create hydronic flow diagrams and specify piping accessories
  • Ability to review and select DDC controls monitoring, and fire alarm / protection system devices & points lists
  • Ability to follow company and site safety requirements
  • Ability to analyze and prepare documents, reports and correspondence
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form (technical and non-technical information)
  • Ability to communicate effectively directly with clients and at times serve as primary point of client contact
  • Ability to work successfully as a member of a team and independently with moderate supervision
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet close deadlines
  • Ability to effectively plan and delegate the work of others
  • Organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Must be able to move equipment weighing up to 25 pounds
  • Must be able to travel up to 10% to any or all 50 US states
