Job Summary
Mechanical Engineer III responsible for leading and delivering automation design and project support for custom field-testing equipment. Focus on concept through validation of automated systems, utilizing SolidWorks for 3D mechanical design, coordinating with internal stakeholders, vendors and cross-functional teams, and ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency. Drive development of specifications, drawings, BOMs, test procedures, commissioning, start-up, and field support; develop and implement safety strategies, interlocks and alarms; manage cost and schedule, ensure IP/documentation practices, and promote teamwork and knowledge sharing across projects. Able to travel as needed and communicate effectively in English.
Required Qualifications
- BS in engineering or science with strong emphasis in automation and 4+ years of relevant work experience OR MS with 2+ years OR PhD with 1+ years
- Degree in Electrical, Chemical, Civil, Mechanical, Agricultural, Computer, Computer Science, Electromechanics, Mechatronics, Industrial, Information Systems, or related field with emphasis in automation
- Experience in automation design, machine design, test engineering, automation support, project engineering or equivalent
- Working knowledge of safety systems, design documentation standards, automation validation, QA, and automated system integration
- Strong computer hardware and software skills; knowledge of national/international standards; project planning, scheduling, cost control; ability to travel as needed
- Experience in field support, check-out, commissioning, start-up of automated systems
- Ability to write comprehensive technical documents for project execution
- Business proficiency in oral and written English
