Job Summary
Research and analyze customer specifications to design semi/fully automated assembly and test systems using SolidWorks, ensuring feasibility within budget and schedule constraints. Develop mechanisms, create detailed fabrication and assembly drawings, and generate Bills of Material while collaborating to optimize cost-effectiveness and performance metrics. Release completed designs to Project Management, occasionally acting as Project Engineer, and support fabrication, assembly, and machine qualification activities. Maintain a clean work area and adhere to safety procedures while interpreting technical reports and applying mechanical engineering principles to drive design direction.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
- 5 or more years' experience in an automation related field
- Proficient in Solidworks
- Proficient in AutoCAD
- Proficient in Microsoft Word
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- General knowledge of GD&T
- General knowledge of EPDM
- General knowledge of Jig and Fixture design
- Occasionally required to travel up to 5%
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general technical procedures
- Ability to read, write and analyze technical reports
- Ability to calculate engineering formulas including deflection, moment of inertia, stress, along with applying concepts of algebra and geometry
