Job Summary
Mechanical Engineer II responsible for mechanical design, development, and documentation of components and sub-assemblies for defense system equipment; collaborate across disciplines to solve technical challenges, generate engineering drawings and models, participate in design peer reviews, and conduct trade studies; occasional CONUS travel to customer sites; on-site role in Portsmouth, RI; requires STEM degree and ability to obtain security clearance; salary range 68,900–131,100 USD.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
- Minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience
- Experience with selection of materials for structural, thermal, mechanical, electrical, producibility, and environmental considerations including corrosion mitigation and prevention
- Experience with GD&T (ASME Y14.5)
- Tolerance Analysis
- metal fabrication (machining, sheet metal)
- assembly joining techniques (fasteners, rivets, inserts)
- CAD modeling and Engineering Documentation practices
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance
- U.S. citizenship is required for security clearance
