Job Summary
Mechanical Engineer II responsible for designing and analyzing components and assemblies with a focus on structural integrity. Design hardware based on customer specifications using SolidWorks; ensure design for manufacturability in collaboration with RF, Manufacturing, and Production; perform static and dynamic analyses (modal, static, random vibration, thermoelastic) using NEi/NX Nastran and Femap; work with QA to resolve non-conformances; create and maintain documentation for design and analysis; communicate technical information internally and with customers/vendors; support production, testing, and R&D activities; provide hours estimates and mockups for proposals to the Sales Team; review drawings with GD&T and apply tolerance stack-up analysis where required; adhere to ITAR/EAR and internal quality guidelines; participate in continuous improvement; other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
- SolidWorks or similar CAD experience
- NEi/NX Nastran or Femap experience
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes including CNC machining and 3D printing
- Experience designing and analyzing components and assemblies with emphasis on structural integrity
- 2+ years of related design experience in aerospace
- Experience delivering technical presentations to internal and external stakeholders
