Mechanical Engineer II - Built Environment

Job Summary

Design and optimize HVAC, plumbing, and building systems for high-performing environments across a national portfolio. Perform design analysis and modeling aligned with Performance Based Design standards using Revit and AutoCAD. Lead detailed contract and construction documents, ensuring code compliance and high-quality technical specifications. Troubleshoot advanced mechanical systems integrated with Building Automation Systems and conduct energy modeling, equipment sizing, and load calculations. Manage multiple small-to-moderate mechanical design assignments while coordinating with cross-disciplinary teams and external consultants. Lead construction administration tasks such as RFIs, shop drawing reviews, and field inspections with minimal supervision. Mentor junior engineers and support technical training within the team.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) licensure
  • 5+ years of experience in HVAC and plumbing design for the built environment
  • 8+ years of post-graduation engineering experience
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and other industry-standard design and modeling tools
  • Proven experience collaborating on building system design projects in a consulting A/E environment
  • Strong knowledge of relevant mechanical codes, energy efficiency standards, and integration with fire protection, plumbing, and fuel/gas systems
