Job Summary
Design custom automation equipment, robotic systems, and manufacturing machinery from concept through installation using 3D CAD software. Develop complete machine layouts, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings, including robotic cells, conveyors, fixtures, and structural weldments. Perform tolerance stack-up calculations, review customer specifications for estimating, and release Bills of Materials. Coordinate engineering activities with project managers and support procurement, fabrication, assembly, and debug phases. Participate in customer design reviews, FATs, SATs, installations, and commissioning to deliver reliable, cost-effective solutions. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required with 2–10+ years of machine design experience. Proficiency in Inventor or SolidWorks and knowledge of pneumatics, servo applications, and GD&T are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology
- 2–10+ years of machine design experience (entry-level candidates with strong internships considered)
- Proficiency with Inventor, SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software
- Knowledge of pneumatics, bearings, gearboxes, servo applications, linear motion systems, and structural design
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with FANUC, ABB, or collaborative robots
- Experience designing EOAT, conveyors, fixtures, machine tending systems, and automation equipment
- Knowledge of GD&T, machine safety standards, PDM systems, and FEA or motion simulation
