Job Summary
Mechanical Engineer I to support mechanical designs of Cesium products through all phases of development, including electronics packaging design, mechanical simulations and analyses, CAD, spacecraft mechanical interfaces, and environmental qualification of electronic assemblies. Responsibilities include design through requirements definition, detailed design, simulation, analysis, manufacturing, testing, qualification, and in-orbit support; with emphasis on thermal management design, EMI/EMC mitigation techniques, GD&T, finite element analysis, and cost analysis to develop, validate, and optimize mechanical designs. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science (BS) and minimum of 1 year of industry experience in design and analysis.
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles.
- Experience with CAD tools such as SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo, or AutoCAD.
- Knowledge of GD&T, drafting standards, and engineering documentation practices.
- Experience with Engineering analysis tools such as ANSYS, MATLAB, or similar.
- Experience with CNC manufacturing.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
