Job Summary
Design mechanical components, assemblies, and supporting hardware for semiconductor equipment, creating and maintaining 3D CAD models, drawings, and engineering documentation. Translate system requirements into mechanical design solutions while performing basic analyses including tolerance stack-ups, thermal, and structural evaluations. Support prototype builds, testing, and design verification activities by collecting and analyzing test data to evaluate performance and identify improvement opportunities. Participate in troubleshooting and root cause investigations for design and system-level issues, collaborating with electrical, controls, manufacturing, sourcing, and service teams. Assist with engineering change notices, design reviews, and product release activities to ensure designs meet quality, safety, manufacturability, and reliability requirements.
Required Qualifications
- BS in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline
- 0-3 years of mechanical engineering experience, including internships or co-op experience
- Experience with 3D CAD software (Creo preferred, or equivalent)
- Understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals, including statics, dynamics, materials, and machine design
- Familiarity with engineering drawings and GD&T principles
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Desired Qualifications
- Internship, co-op, or project experience involving product design or electromechanical systems
- Exposure to manufacturing processes and assembly methods
- Experience with engineering analysis tools or FEA software
- Familiarity with laboratory testing and data analysis
- Experience working in a fast-paced product development environment
- Interest in semiconductor equipment, automation, robotics, vacuum systems, or precision mechanisms
