Job Summary
Mechanical Engineer (HVAC & Plumbing) to design, integrate, and optimize building system solutions. Responsibilities include interpreting architectural design plans, researching and selecting HVAC and plumbing systems to fit project scope, designing heating, cooling, and plumbing layouts, applying thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, materials science, and structural analysis in design work, using REVIT to draft plans and models, selecting equipment to meet building needs, finding innovative solutions for challenging spaces, and collaborating with the operations manager to develop new client work. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (ABET-accredited), 4+ years of HVAC & plumbing design experience, Engineer-In-Training (EIT) licensure, and preferably PE licensure or commitment to obtain soon after hire; travel may be required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from an ABET-accredited engineering program
- Minimum of 4+ years’ mechanical engineering experience with HVAC & plumbing design in a range of various building applications
- Engineer-In-Training (EIT) professional licensure required
- Professional Engineering (PE) licensure preferred or willing to obtain soon after hire
- Proficiency with REVIT engineering design software
- Project management experience leading tasks or projects
- In-depth knowledge of HVAC systems
- Familiarity with basic plumbing and electrical systems
- A valid driver’s license and an insurable driving record is required for periodic travel
