Job Summary
Provide failure analysis and forensic consulting services requiring mechanical engineering expertise for insurance, legal, and industrial clients. Evaluate issues with products and mechanical systems including HVAC and plumbing, providing reports of findings and technical guidance. Requires a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and a PE license, with 2 to 10 years of relevant experience. Strong analytical and communication skills, and familiarity with various computer software applications are necessary. Position involves site inspections and may require up to 25% travel.
Required Qualifications
- B.S. Mechanical Engineering degree or higher
- P.E. required
- 2-10+ years of experience in mechanical engineering
- Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, fire suppression systems, and other mechanical systems
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to interact and communicate with clients
- Knowledge of computer software applications including Microsoft Office
- Ability to interpret scientific and technical reports
Desired Qualifications
- Project Management experience preferred
- Field Investigation experience preferred

- Must reside in the territory of Detroit, Ann Arbor, Lansing or Grand Rapids
